Oops!!

Last week I fell asleep with my computer on my bed. It was turned off, but I had fallen asleep before I could set it on the floor, like I usually do. Sometime in my sleep I kicked my poor PC off the end of my bed and when I woke the next morning it would not even turn on... Funny, this thing has been halfway around the world with me, but one bad night and everything is gone. Luckily, I bought the Dell Complete Care coverage. I called Tech Support on Thursday, shipped my computer on Friday and was shocked when DHL knocked on my door this afternoon (Tuesday). I am SO happy to have my computer back!! And from now on, I promise not to try and sleep with my computer any more.

The Skinny on the New Job

I have been working for an airline as a customer service agent for a little over a month now. Since training, I have spent all of my time on the ramp marshalling in planes, loading and unloading baggage, etc. It's very physical - so far I have lost 10 lbs and I am developing some serious muscles in my arms. :) It's also very exciting - every day is different and can be very challenging. I really like my new job. I also like the travel opportunities. I have four more weeks of training (once they decide to send me) before I can work at the ticket counter, so I will be out on the ramp for a while. So far I've seen snow (Denver) and plenty of rain, but we've had some pretty nice days out there too and I'm looking forward to spring/summer out there...

I've received various levels of approval for my decision to work on the ramp. Mom didn't like the bruises I had my first few weeks - I had to get used to handling bags and they've since disappeared. My grandmother doesn't seem too thrilled that I am in a job that is not very feminine. Friends don't really say much, but I think they are expecting this to be temporary...

I don't know if this is a new career path for me or if I will eventually return to a classroom. I am having a difficult time thinking that far in advance. What's most important to me is that I can wake up day after day and enjoy, as well as feel challenged by, what I do...
